Mijoy’s Promise LLC is a Shared Living home that provides premier supportive housing in Kern County. We offer safe, affordable, and supportive living environments to help individuals rebuild their lives.

Founded by Mijoy Stephens, an active-duty Navy officer, our mission is to provide more than just a roof over someone’s head; we provide a stable foundation to restore hope and empower individuals to achieve independence. We have dedicated programs including sober living in Ridgecrest and compassionate veteran housing in California.

We provide housing solutions for a wide range of individuals seeking stability and support, including:
  • Veterans (including homeless veterans)
  • Seniors
  • Adults with disabilities
  • Individuals in recovery (Sober Living)
  • Individuals in transitional housing (transitioning from homelessness)
  • Individuals in re-entry housing (integrating into the community)
  • Young adults transitioning from foster care (Aged-Out Foster Care)
  • Low-income individuals
  • Other special needs populations

Shared room housing provides an affordable solution for many individuals who cannot afford the high cost of renting from traditional landlords. It offers a more economical option for preventing homelessness by providing community housing with rooms for rent at much lower rates.

Rent starts at $750 per month. This is an all-inclusive price with no hidden fees.

The all-inclusive monthly rent covers:
  • All utilities (Electric, Water, Trash)
  • A drug and alcohol-free environment
  • A fully furnished home
  • Onsite laundry facilities
  • Internet access

It is easy to qualify. The main requirements are:
  • Must be clean and sober
  • Must show proof of income (such as SS/SSDI, Private Pay, etc.)
  • A background check is required

No credit check is required for qualification.

We have a simple 3-step process:
  1. Apply Online: Fill out our secure and confidential online application form.
  2. We’ll Connect: Our team will review your application and contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss your needs.
  3. Move In: Once approved, you can often move into your new, fully furnished room.

Once you are approved, a safe and stable home is available quickly. Move-in within 48 hours is often possible.
